Here I'm not complaining about a WPP problem but I would like to receive some confirmation that what I'm going to describe is an unsupported scenario. I think it will be useful to others too because it a subject poorly documented in internet.
From an MSI (it was Adobe Reader XI) I created an AIP (administrative installation point), a sort od partially unzipped MSI for those who doesn't know it. Then I applied a msp patch directly to this AIP, the 11.0.3. I installed the patched software using GPO.
Recently I tried to deploy the 11.0.6 patch alone using WPP but its is reported to be 'Not applicable'.
From the few information I found it may be the correct behavior. In fact it seems that the msp patches doesn't recognize the software installed from an AIP where an older patch was applied.
I would be glad if somebody can explain this fact with greater details.
Thanks
Filippo
