I think that Adobe publish "AdbeRdr11003_en_US.exe" with both the "Base Install"(Adobe Reader 11.0), AND files to upgrade to 11.0.03. When you launch manually AdbeRdr11003_en_US.exe, the exe extract files then launch the Setup.exe with a commandLine to tell to install the Base version and then to copy files from the CAB to the insallation folder.
If you try to launch manually the file setup.exe or AcroRead.msi, you end up with Adobe Reader XI. And if you look into the CAB file, you will find a file named AcroRd32.exe which have for File Version 11.0.0.379.
The help guide you have download from the 'Documentation' tab is for Adobe Reader XI (the base install), not Adobe Reader 11.0.03. And the installation process is different. You should follow the guide for Adobe Reader XI and then publish the .msp to upgrade to 11.0.03.
I know it is tempting to publish directly the latest version. But without knowing the method used by Adobe to upgrade after installation of the base version, it's not possible.
