Hi,
some catalogs (Dell f.i.) are designed for English language updates only. But if your WSUS is configured to only have German Language Updates, you can't publish and/or deploy "English" Updates. So this checkbox just does, as it says, it removes the assigned language from the catalog updates. I usually have it checked.
