Guten Tag,
ich hätte eine Frage bezüglich der Deinstallation von veröffentlichten Updates. Wir haben z.B. eine Flash-Paket erstellt und über eine Wsus-Gruppe verteilt. Funktioniert auch soweit ohne Probleme. Wie bekomme ich allerdings dieses Paket wieder von einem Client/Gruppe deinstalliert? Muss hierfür über "Uninstall2Install" ein Deinstallationspaket erstellt werden?
Über eine kurze Rückmeldung würde ich mich sehr freuen.

Comments: Du kannst es mit Uninstall2Install machen, Du kannst das Update aber auch zum Deinstallieren genehmigen. Rechtsklick > Genehmigen > Deinstallieren. You can deinstall with Uninstall2Install, you can aprove the update for deinstall. Rightclick > aprove > deinstall.

I have tried to create an update for the acrobat Flash 20 active x msi installer and get CreateDirectory failed.

This is on Server 2012 r2 version 6.3 build 9600
Running Update Server version 6.3.9600.16384


The user that is logged in is a domin admin, I added that user to the wsus admin group

I thought it might be a cert issues so i clicked create new certificate and it warned me that the one on the server was vaild so I did not recreate. I have deployed the certificate to all computers with GPO and in the GPO allow 3rd party installs was setup to work with our old update server which was server 2k3 using local update publish which does not work with server 2012.

Guten Tag,

ich würde gerne eine Datei (mss.cfg) als Konfigdatei für den Flashplayer verteilen. Allerdings bekomme ich die Datei nicht auf die Clients kopiert - es wird zwar ein Update angezeigt und auch ausgeführt, allerdings erscheint die Datei nicht auf dem Zielclient.
Ich habe mir bereits die Doku angeschaut und auch verschiedene Kopiervariationen getestet - allerdings alle mit dem selben negativen Ergebnis.

Könnte mir evtl. jemand einen Tipp geben, wie ich diese Datei an den Zielort auf dem Client kopiert bekommen.

Ich wähle bei den Benutzerdefinierten Updates - Datei kopieren aus. Als Quelle wird das Verzeichnis auf dem WUS bei uns angegeben - habe auch bereits mit UNC-Freigabe das Ganze getestet (SRVW\UpdateServicePackages\mss\mss.cfg), bei Ziel habe ich den Zielpfad für den Client eingetragen (C:\Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash\mss.cfg). Die Bedingungen in den Regeln lediglich ob die Datei bereits vorhanden ist, bzw. nicht vorhanden ist.

Wie gesagt, das Update wird angezeigt und ausgeführt - allerdings ohne die Datei zu kopieren.
Würde mich freuen, wenn mir jemand hierbei weiterhelfen könnte.

Hello,

I'm trying to deploy LibreOffice on Windows from Vista to 10.
I'm using 5.0.4 msi.

I don't have any error message, in WU.log or the Event viewer.
Deployment seems to be fine but in reality nothing is installed.

With or without parameters (i'm trying with REMOVE=gm_o_Onlineupdate), it's the same.
If i'm trying to deploy the msi from the command line, it works.

Tested with Vista x86, 7 x64, 8x64 and 10 x86/x64.
I allowed user interactions.

Hallo wir haben bei uns in der Domäne 2 Windows 2012 R2 Server die per WSUS die Updates für Flash, Java und Adobe Reader verteilen. Seit Java version 71 taucht nun beim Veröffentlichen folgender Fehler auf "Timeout abgelaufen. Das Zeitlimit wurde vor dem Beenden des Vorgangs überschritten oder der Server reagiert nicht. Warning: The join order has been enforced because a local join hint is used."
Ein Neustart des Servers brachte das selbe Ergebnis. Hat jemand schonmal diesen Fehler gehabt und weis wie er zu beseitigen ist?

Comments: Das Problem ist wieder da. :( Diesmal beim FlashPlayer 20.0.0.306 ActiveX. Ich versuche diesen aus dem Katalog einzubinden und es kommt die gleiche Fehlermeldung wie beim manuellen erstellen der Updates. Das Skript zeigt diesmal keine Wirkung. Die Serverbereinigungsskripte laufen mittlerweile (hatte anfangs ein paar Startschwierigkeiten). Gibt es noch andere mittel und wege WPP wieder zum laufen zu bekommen?

Nachdem ich im WPP ein Update anlege (neues Update) und es Überarbeite/Veröffentliche ist es zwar in der WSUS-Konsole wie gewünscht sichtbar und wir auch installiert, in der WPP-Konsole ist es aber nicht mehr zu sehen. Bei den ersten Updates war das noch nicht der Fall, aber auf einmal nix mehr, keine Anzeige. Ich habe es jetzt mehrfach versucht und weiß nicht was ich falsch mache. Nichts hilft, Server neu gestartet...hat jemand eine Idee oder ein ähnliches Verhalten?

Am einfachsten ist, die Datei per Script oder per Group Policy Preference auf die Clients zu kopieren. Wegen so einer 1 KB großen Textdatei würde ich nicht den Aufwand mit dem WPP machen. ;)

Hi sthshare. Sorry its taken me so long to reply. I have been very busy with other urgent projects so this got put on the back burner.

I have discovered that it seems to work if I have a setup like this.
New Firefox version 43
Old Firefox Version 41
So I say in File version comparison less than - I put File version 42.

For some reason, this seems to work! Maybe its a bug with the program where you cannot put the same version as the latest version of the software?

I have now done an upgrade on one client from version 41 to version 43. In a couple of days, I will check and see if the clients have upgraded and are showing as installed. I will also need to check that they don't keep re-installing.

If all works, I will get back to you, but it does seem like a bug where I have to put in version 42 instead of version 43 (the latest version) and then it seems to work. But I will need to test this more long time, because I have noticed it seems a bit random.

today I tried to create and distribute a custom update (batch-file-execution) with version 1.3.1411.09. Creating the update worked, but installation on clients failed (error FFFC). So I downloaded the latest version 1.3.1511.15 and tried the same here. The update appears in WSUS correctly but is shown as inapplicable for the clients (consequently they don't get the update).
It was exactly the same procedure as I had done with the old version 1.3.1411.09.
Can someone help me here? How can I execute batch-scripts via custom update (for uninstalling old Java versions)?

Comments: For Uninstall and Install new Java Versions, you can use Uninstall2Install. Only you need to read a little german: http://wsus.de/uninstall2install
