Dear All,
I Have WSUS 6.3 (2012R2) And I have CA in my Environment, I followed your steps that are shown in the Document "Creating a Code Signing Certificate", But i noticed when you generated the Code Signing Certificate in step #2 that you selected "My User Account" in order to request the new Certificate.
My Question is , Am I supposed to choose "My Computer Account" in order to request this new certificate ? because by the steps followed in the manual this certificate will be issued to the user account not the WSUS computer Account

Hi,

I have created a new package for Flash 12 and I have declined my "Flash 11" package.

Actually, my WSUS client on workstation still ask me to install Flash 11 at every reboot.

What is the best practice to do when we have a major update for a package please ?

hello!
I have a question: I am deploying the updates for differents programs: firefox, reader, etc I want that the clients with an old version, recive the update, but the clients who don't have that program, omited that update.
Where can I say in Wsus Publisher that rule?

I have deployed (successfully as far as I am concerned) Acrobat 11 and 6 updates and Flash 12.0.0.70 and I think its a great product.

After I publish a package I see it listed in the WSUS Package Publisher Console (WSUSPP Console) .

If I close down the WSUS Package Publisher Console re-open the console then package disappears so I can't see what I have published now.

Is this by design ? or am I doing something wrong ?

In this situation, computers in "Production" group will see that Flash player 11 is superseded but as Flash player12 is not approve for this group, they will install Flash Player11 if need.

Unfortunately the link doesn't really give a solution
In fact,, it does ! By reading Adobe's page and my previous post, you should realize that you are using a WRONG Msi product code !!!
Your "IsInstallable" rule say : Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70 is installable if Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 is not installed !!!
and your "IsInstalled" rule say : Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70 is installed if Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 is installed !?!?!?
Is the answer to stop this and roll out a newer version?
To my knowledge, there is not newer version than 12.0.0.70. You have to revise the update and use the correct MSI product code.

Have bought for a customer the SCUP catalog from www.patchmypc.com. Can successfully import the catalog into Wsus Package Publisher. Have then discovered that I can import some Adobe Updates. But importing other updates from the catalog immediately fail with the error messge "select, at least, one package". See attached printscreen.

Have then tried to import the free evaluation Scup catalog from patchmypc which contains only one update for the FoxIT Reader. Was able to successfully import this evaluation catalog __and__ could successfully import the update! Importing the same FoxIT Reader update from the much larger SCUP catalog that we have bought doesn't work.
Have then extracted the XML files from both SCUP CAB files. Have then extracted the two XML file sections of the Java Update 51 Updates from the PatchMyPC SCUP file that we have bought and added this two updates to the XML file of the evaluation PatchMyPC XML file.
Could then successfully import my XML file which contains only three updates (2 Java and 1 FoxIT Reader) into WSUS package publisher __and__ was able to import all three updates!

Conclusion: WSUS Package Publisher can not import the updates from a larger SCUP catalog.
Comments: Bug fixed. WPP can now import updates from catalogs that contains several vendors.

Hi,

I am a very beginner in this so I am sorry for my possibly lame questions. :)
I've successfully packaged Adobe Reader 11.006 and distributed to my test computers so the package and the distribution are working fine.
In our company users usually use Adobe reader but approx. 25% of them use Foxit reader.

Which rule do I need to and how to configure to NOT to install Adobe Reader if there is no Adobe Reader previously installed on the computer?
(I will have a same problem with the java because only 10-15% of our computers running java and I don't want to install the latest on all of them but to update only the ones where they are currently installed)

I am a bit stuck with this because I find those rules quite complex.

i installed the Application like the manual. When i try to create an new Update like JAVA i get an Error called
"Access to module dbo.SwitchLocallyPublished is blocked because the signature is not valid."

Someone can help me to resolve this ?

I've installed the software, taken care of the certificates, added Adobe catalogs and approved a test using a Flash Player update. Now I'm waiting for the update to happen on my test computer.

What I really need is a better understanding of the operational side of the update process. How does it work? Am I correct that these updates won't show in the WSUS user console? Does WSUS refer the client to WPP to get the updates? Do the clients contact WPP directly without any involvement from WSUS? How does it all work? Is there a document that explains this process?

Hi,

i want deploy Java Update but it doesnt work. Windows found the Update and when i want to install it i get errors like 80070667. I also try to deploy the same package to an Windows 7 machine and it works?!?!

Can anybody explain me this ??

through GPO configuration.

In this scenario1 how WPP will support for this client.

Scenario 2: If client machine is member of test1.contoso.com and pointing to the WSUS server located on test2.contoso.com through GPO configuration.

test1.contoso.com and test2.contoso.com are child domains for contoso.com

In this scenario2 how WPP will support for this client.

I solved the problem, I placed the update "jdk-7u51-windows-x64.exe" in the location of installation files of WPP, then i modified the PathToExecutable And it worked
